Why is the
Great Aussie AED Hunt Important
Have you ever asked the question ... How can I find the nearest AED to my current location ?
The Heart of the Nation App helps you answer that question by showing you the 10 nearest AEDs around your current location.
Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are designed to be user-friendly, ensuring that anyone can use them easily, even without any prior training. This means that in a critical situation, any bystander can step in to provide immediate assistance to the patient. This accessibility reinforces the vital role AEDs play in our communities, acting as a first line of defence when a cardiac emergency occurs.
The importance of using an AED within the first three minutes of a cardiac arrest cannot be overstated, as it drastically increases the chances of survival.
To further facilitate this, Heart of the Nation has developed an app that provides a comprehensive view of the HotN AED network. With this app, locating a nearby AED is just a few taps away, ensuring that these life-saving devices can be accessed quickly and efficiently when every second counts.

3 Simple Steps
By signing up to the Great Aussie AED Hunt, you'll receive a unique Hunter Code that allows you to start registering AEDs in the Heart of the Nation App.
As a participant you'll receive your AED Hunter Kit which includes

Flyers that you can distribute to companies and organisations, encouraging them to register their AEDs using your Hunter Code.

Social Media tiles for you to promote to your network of friends and colleagues.

Great Aussie AED Hunt sticker
Heart of the Nation App will be your companion in the Great Aussie AED Hunt.
This app is designed to swiftly locate the nearest Automated External Defibrillator (AED) that is registered with Heart of the Nation to your current location, no matter where you are in the country. If you find an AED but it is not showing up on the app, select Register AED on the bottom right of the screen. Provide as much information as you can - be sure to enter your "Hunter Code" and then click on the submit button.
Now that you have your flyers and code, it's time to hit the ground running.
Keep an eye out for the different AED signs (as seen above) in your area.
Make sure to distribute flyers to AED owners with your "Hunter Code", and encourage them to register their AED with Heart of the Nation, we will send them free stickers to let the community know they have an AED inside.
